Yes thats me in the blue jersey. The dream to become airline pilot started right here. I didn't think one day being color blind would effectively end that dream to become an airline pilot but like millions of airplane enthusiasts the world over, the absolute passion for aviation NEVER died. Aircraft engine maker Rolls-Royce said plans for three new factories in South Yorkshire would not be affected by its decision to base new engine testing plants overseas.The Derby-based company is undertaking a feasibility study into setting up testing plants in Germany and the US.
A spokesman told the Yorkshire Post yesterday that the decision would not have any impact on its plans to build three factories on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, which were submitted last week. READ MORE

Air France A318 and KLM B739 Near Collision
An Air France Airbus A318-100, registration F-GUGI performing flight AF-3484 from Lyon (France) to Amsterdam (Netherlands) with 98 passengers and 6 crew, was on final approach to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport's runway 18C. Tower had advised that winds came from 240 degrees at 20 knots gusting 29 knots. While in the flare at about 15 feet above ground the crew received an onboard indication of gusts exceeding 35 knots and decided to go around climbing to 1500 feet MSL.  READ MORE
